First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether teaching people how to use mobility devices like crutches or walkers before foot or ankle surgery can reduce the number of falls after the operation. About 250 adults having elective foot or ankle surgery will be enrolled. Half will receive standard care, and half will get extra training before surgery. The goal is to see if this simple step can prevent injuries and improve recovery.
