New dental sealant tested to protect kids' sensitive molars
NCT ID NCT07504614
First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether a new pre-etched bioactive dental sealant works better than a standard resin-based sealant for children aged 6–12 who have a condition called molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH), which causes weak, sensitive enamel. The trial will enroll 76 children and measure how well each sealant stays in place, prevents cavities, and reduces tooth sensitivity. The goal is to find a more effective way to protect these vulnerable teeth from decay and discomfort.
