Microwave zap before prostate surgery shows promise in early trial
NCT ID NCT06128525
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This early trial tested a new approach for prostate cancer: using heat from microwaves to kill tumor cells before standard surgery. Only one man took part, and the main goal was to see how much tissue the heat treatment actually destroyed. The hope is that this less invasive step could reduce side effects and improve quality of life for future patients.
