First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether community-based events and follow-up calls could increase cancer screening rates among women in Puerto Rico who were overdue for breast, cervical, or colorectal cancer tests. Researchers recruited 500 women aged 21–75 and used interviews and phone calls to encourage screening. The goal was to overcome pandemic-related barriers and improve early detection.
