Doctors' computer screens get a Tune-Up to fight medication overuse

NCT ID NCT06998966

Summary

This study aims to see if making small changes to the prescription screens in UCLA's electronic health record system helps doctors follow guidelines when prescribing common heartburn drugs called PPIs. The research involves about 372 UCLA primary care doctors and will automatically track prescription data from their routine patient visits. The goal is to reduce unnecessarily long prescriptions while letting doctors make the final decisions for their patients.
