First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 12-week exercise program focused on fast, powerful movements can reduce bradykinesia (slowness of movement) in people with Parkinson's disease. Twenty-two adults aged 50 to 85 with rigid-akinetic Parkinson's took part. One group did standard exercises, while the other did the same exercises but at maximum speed to build muscle power. The goal was to see if power training improves movement and daily function more than traditional therapy.
