Could antibodies be the key to understanding POTS?

NCT ID NCT02196376

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study compares blood samples from 212 people with and without Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) to see if those with POTS have higher levels of certain antibodies. Researchers also want to know if these antibodies are more common in people whose POTS started after a viral infection. Participants will have a medical history, physical exam, and blood draw. The goal is to better understand what causes POTS, not to test a new treatment.
