Can a potato starch pill tweak your gut bugs?
NCT ID NCT06949631
Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement made from resistant potato starch could change the types of bacteria living in the gut of healthy adults. Over four weeks, 74 participants took either the starch or a placebo (a dummy pill) and provided stool samples for analysis. Researchers tracked changes in specific gut bacteria and monitored participants' digestive symptoms and quality of life through daily diaries.
