First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding postural or Rocabado exercises to a standard mouthguard (occlusal splint) can better reduce pain and improve jaw movement in people with internal temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Fifty-seven adults were split into three groups: mouthguard only, mouthguard plus Rocabado exercises, or mouthguard plus postural exercises. After two months, the researchers compared pain levels, jaw range of motion, and neck function to find the most effective combination.
