New study aims to boost postpartum diabetes testing and heart care

NCT ID NCT05909046

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether screening for diabetes right after giving birth (before leaving the hospital) is more effective than the usual 4-12 week wait for new mothers who had gestational diabetes. It also surveys participants about their views on heart health programs and barriers to care. About 104 women will take part to help improve follow-up care and prevent future diabetes and heart problems.
