Gut health pill aims to cut surgery complications in half

Summary
This study is testing if taking a special gut health supplement for a week before colon cancer surgery can help patients recover with fewer complications. About 164 patients will be randomly assigned to take either the supplement or a placebo pill before their operation. Researchers hope the supplement will strengthen the gut and reduce problems like infections or poor healing after surgery.
