Doctors test new score to predict hospital stay after gut surgery
NCT ID NCT06018961
Summary
This study aims to test a new scoring system (the IFEED score) to better define and measure a common problem where the bowels temporarily stop working after abdominal surgery. Researchers will follow 161 patients undergoing digestive tract surgery to see if this score accurately predicts how long they need to stay in the hospital. The goal is to create a clearer, more reliable way to identify and manage this post-surgical complication.
