NCT ID NCT03723291
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking pentoxifylline (a blood flow drug) and vitamin E together can help reduce scarring and tightness in the throat and jaw caused by radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. 50 adults who had radiation at least a year ago and were cancer-free took the drugs plus did rehabilitation exercises for 6 months. The main goal was to see if a larger trial is possible, not to prove the treatment works.
