New shot may slash pain after eye removal surgery

Summary
This study compares a standard painkiller (bupivacaine) with a slow-release version (Exparel) to control pain after eye removal surgery. About 88 adults having their eye removed will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two painkillers during surgery. The goal is to see if the slow-release version provides better pain relief and reduces the need for opioid pain pills.
