First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at premature babies who weighed 2.2 pounds or less at birth and were given either a standard or high-protein diet while in the NICU. Researchers want to see how these different diets affect the babies' growth, body composition, and brain development 18 to 24 months after they go home. The goal is to learn which protein level leads to better long-term health outcomes for these vulnerable infants.
