NCT ID NCT07292987
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding early nurse and psychologist support after a retinitis pigmentosa (RP) diagnosis helps patients feel better emotionally. RP is a rare, progressive eye disease, and the diagnosis can be very upsetting. Eighty newly diagnosed adults will be split into two groups: one gets standard care, the other gets extra support including a nurse visit and a psychologist session. The goal is to see if this extra care improves patient satisfaction and reduces anxiety and depression.
