New program aims to ease dementia caregiver burden

Summary
This study tested a program to support families right after a dementia diagnosis. The program connected caregivers with a counselor who helped them find community services and learn about the disease. 82 caregivers from Iowa took part, and the study measured how much the program reduced their stress and improved their knowledge of available help.
