Simple breathing exercises may ease anxiety and delirium after heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07542691

First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding breathing exercises and muscle relaxation to standard care can help people who have had heart surgery feel less short of breath, less anxious, and have fewer symptoms of delirium. About 116 adults will take part, with half doing the extra exercises for 30 minutes a day for three days. The goal is to see if these simple techniques improve recovery and reduce complications.
