First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether a polio vaccine (sIPV) works just as well when given alongside other routine baby vaccines. Over 1,400 infants in Bangladesh and Pakistan received the polio vaccine either alone or with vaccines for diseases like pneumonia, diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough. The goal was to confirm that combining vaccines does not weaken the immune response to polio or the other diseases.
