NCT ID NCT06765135
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study places a rapid testing device in primary care clinics that can detect 15 different viruses and bacteria from a simple nose swab in about 15 minutes. Researchers want to see if giving doctors these quick results helps them prescribe antibiotics more wisely for patients with cold-like symptoms. About 8,000 adults with symptoms like cough, runny nose, or fever will take part, and both patients and clinicians will share their experiences through surveys and focus groups.
