First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a portable ultrasound machine at the patient's bedside (called POCUS) helps doctors make more accurate diagnoses within 48 hours of hospital admission. The study involved 144 adults admitted from the emergency department to general medical wards. Nurse practitioners performed the ultrasound to see if it could speed up care and reduce hospital stays.
