New vaccine tested to fight pneumonia and ear infections
NCT ID NCT07059182
Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety of a new type of vaccine designed to prevent serious infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, including pneumonia and severe ear infections. Thirty healthy adults received either the experimental vaccine or a placebo injection and were monitored for side effects for 30 days. The main goal was to see if the vaccine was safe and well-tolerated, not to test how well it prevents disease.
