First seen Jan 18, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests if injections of a patient's own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can help preserve vision in people with retinitis pigmentosa or a related retinal disease called EMAP. Thirty adults will receive three injections over four months, and researchers will measure changes in visual field and eye health over six months. The goal is to see if this treatment is safe and might slow vision loss.
