Scientists track tiny blood cell shifts in critical care patients

NCT ID NCT07334457

Summary

This study aims to understand how different types of blood platelets change in patients receiving ECMO, a machine that supports heart and lung function. Researchers will observe 75 adults in intensive care to see if shifts in platelet types help explain bleeding or clotting complications. The goal is to gather knowledge, not to test a new treatment.
