Could plant-based tube feeds replace animal proteins for home patients?
NCT ID NCT07422935
First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether new plant-protein tube feeds are as good as the usual animal-protein ones for adults who get their nutrition through a feeding tube at home. About 110 people will try one of four plant-protein formulas or a standard animal-protein formula for 3 months, with follow-ups at 6 and 12 months. Researchers will check how well people tolerate the feed, their nutrition, body measurements, and muscle strength.
