First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether new plant-protein tube feeds are as effective as standard animal-protein ones for adults who need tube feeding at home. About 110 participants will receive either a plant-based or animal-based formula for 3 months, with follow-ups at 6 and 12 months. Researchers will track digestive comfort, nutrition, body weight, and muscle strength to compare the two options.
