Can eating more plants help seniors shed pounds without losing muscle?
NCT ID NCT07429136
Summary
This study is testing whether a diet focused on plant-based proteins can help adults aged 55+ with obesity lose weight while maintaining muscle mass. Over six months, 200 participants will receive dietary counseling and be randomly assigned to follow either a mostly plant-based or mostly animal-based high-protein diet. Researchers want to see if the plant-based approach is practical and effective for weight loss and muscle preservation in this age group.
