Placental grafts show promise for stubborn diabetic wounds

NCT ID NCT07086443

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special placental graft, used alongside standard wound care, can help close diabetic foot ulcers that won't heal on their own. About 350 adults with type 1 or 2 diabetes and a foot ulcer between 1 and 15 cm² will be randomly assigned to receive the graft plus standard care or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if more ulcers close completely within 12 weeks with the graft treatment.
