Placenta patch shows promise for stubborn leg wounds

NCT ID NCT07230340

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special patch made from donated human placenta tissue can help heal chronic leg ulcers caused by poor vein circulation. About 70 adults with nonhealing ulcers will receive either standard wound care alone or standard care plus the placenta patch. The main goal is to see if the patch leads to more ulcers fully closing.
