Doctors train on placentas to master delicate brain surgery
NCT ID NCT06117527
Summary
This study aims to improve training for neurosurgeons who perform delicate surgery on brain aneurysms (weak bulges in brain arteries). Researchers are using donated human placentas as realistic practice models because their blood vessels closely resemble those in the brain. The goal is to help surgeons develop better skills through hands-on practice in a safe, simulated environment before operating on patients.
