Doctors train on placentas to master delicate brain surgery
NCT ID NCT06117527
Summary
This study is testing a new training model for neurosurgeons who operate on brain aneurysms. Surgeons will practice delicate surgical techniques using donated human placentas, as their blood vessels closely resemble those in the brain. The goal is to improve surgical skills in a safe, realistic training environment, since opportunities to practice on real patients have become rare.
