First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at 154 pregnant women with placenta accreta (a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the womb) to see if an ultrasound scoring system could help doctors choose the safest type of surgery. The goal was to predict whether a woman could have fertility-sparing surgery or would need a hysterectomy (removal of the womb). The study also tracked complications for mothers and babies, and the need for intensive care after surgery.
