Mind over pain: video may supercharge TENS therapy for back pain
NCT ID NCT07535047
First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looks at whether watching a short video that explains how TENS (a device that uses mild electrical pulses) works can help people with sudden low back pain feel more relief. Forty adults with acute low back pain will either get standard physical therapy (TENS plus exercises) or the same therapy plus the educational video. The goal is to see if the video can trigger a placebo effect that reduces pain and improves movement.
