Taste test for tiny patients: can a new spoonable food help manage a rare disorder?

NCT ID NCT04898829

Summary

This study tested a new spoonable medical food called PKU Explore for babies and toddlers with phenylketonuria (PKU). Researchers wanted to see if the children would accept and tolerate the food, and if it could help control their blood phenylalanine (Phe) levels and support normal growth. A small group of children aged 6 months to 3 years tried the food for 28 days, and their parents reported on how well they ate it and how they felt.
