Taste test for tiny patients: can a new spoonable food help manage a rare disorder?

NCT ID NCT04898829

Summary

This study tested a new spoonable medical food called PKU Explore for infants and toddlers with phenylketonuria (PKU). Researchers wanted to see if the children would accept the food, tolerate it well, and if it could help control their blood phenylalanine (Phe) levels while supporting normal growth. A small group of children aged 6 months to 3 years tried the food for 28 days, and their parents reported on how it went.
