Misted chemo shows promise for Hard-to-Treat abdominal cancers

NCT ID NCT07271355

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests a new method called PIPAC, which delivers chemotherapy as a pressurized mist directly into the abdomen during a small surgery. It is for people with appendix or colorectal cancer that has spread to the lining of the belly and cannot be removed surgically. About 129 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard IV chemotherapy or the PIPAC mist plus standard chemo, to see which approach helps people live longer.
