Summary

This study tests whether 10 weeks of Pilates exercises can improve lung function and quality of life in postmenopausal women aged 50-60 who have normal body weight and breathing difficulties. Participants will do Pilates five times a week, with follow-up after the program ends. The goal is to see if this low-impact exercise offers a safe, non-drug way to support respiratory health during menopause.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Pilates exercises
What this could lead to
If effective, Pilates could become a simple, drug-free way to improve lung function and daily well-being for postmenopausal women.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to all women. The breathing improvements may be modest.
