First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a program called PICU Up! that helps critically ill children start moving early, while also managing sedation, preventing delirium, and promoting sleep. About 1,440 children on breathing machines will take part across 10 U.S. hospitals. The goal is to see if this approach reduces time on the ventilator and improves recovery.
