First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether phycocyanin, a natural antioxidant from spirulina, can reduce nerve damage caused by oxaliplatin chemotherapy in people with metastatic gastrointestinal cancers. About 110 participants will receive either phycocyanin or a placebo during their treatment. The goal is to see if the supplement lowers the risk of moderate-to-severe nerve toxicity after four months.
