New CT scan could sharpen laryngeal cancer staging

NCT ID NCT07603167

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new type of CT scan, called photon-counting CT, to see if it can more accurately show how far laryngeal cancer has spread. About 60 adults with laryngeal cancer will get this scan while making a sound, which may help separate throat structures. The goal is to improve treatment decisions and avoid unnecessary aggressive surgery.
