First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether shining a special light (photobiomodulation) on tears from childbirth can reduce pain and help healing. 183 women who had a vaginal birth with a cut or tear were offered the light treatment along with standard care. Researchers compared their pain and healing to those who chose not to have the light therapy.
