Heart-Migraine mystery: scientists hunt for genetic clues
NCT ID NCT07349004
First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at 240 adults with migraine with aura to see if a common heart condition called PFO (a small hole between the heart's upper chambers) is linked to their migraines. Participants will have a single visit for blood tests and a brain ultrasound to check for PFO and measure blood flow. The goal is to find genetic differences and other biological clues that might explain the connection, which could lead to better prevention strategies in the future.
