First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at 140 infants (6-8 months old) who have an older sibling with autism, putting them at higher risk. Researchers want to find out whether starting a parent coaching program at 9, 12, or 15 months leads to the best language and communication skills by age 2. Families first receive simple monitoring, then some are randomly assigned to get extra coaching. The goal is to learn the optimal timing and which early signs (brain or behavior) predict the best outcomes.
