New PET tracer could spot hidden organ damage in rare vasculitis

NCT ID NCT07151521

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study is testing a new type of PET scan tracer (68Ga-FAPI) to see if it can better detect lung scarring and kidney problems in people with ANCA-associated vasculitis. The tracer targets specific cells linked to tissue damage, allowing a whole-body scan in one session. Researchers hope this will help doctors assess disease severity and plan personalized treatment. The study will enroll 30 adults who already have lung disease confirmed by CT scan.
