PET scans may improve endometriosis surgery planning
NCT ID NCT04831619
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at whether PET scans can detect endometriosis lesions before surgery, compared to standard MRI and ultrasound. Fifteen women with symptomatic endometriosis scheduled for surgery received a PET scan. The goal was to see if PET could match surgery in finding all lesions and their locations, potentially reducing the need for exploratory surgery.
