New imaging tool could sharpen cervical cancer staging
NCT ID NCT06083103
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a newer type of scan, PET/MRI, is better than the standard PET/CT at finding cancer spread to lymph nodes in people with locally advanced cervical cancer. About 50 adults with stage IB2 to IVA cervical cancer will receive both scans before treatment. The goal is to see if PET/MRI can detect more lymph node metastases, which could help doctors plan more precise treatment.
