New scan may spot endometriosis without surgery
NCT ID NCT06377553
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 39 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special PET/MRI scan can find endometriosis more accurately than current methods like ultrasound or MRI alone. About 60 women with suspected endometriosis will get the scan before surgery, and results will be compared to surgical findings. If successful, this could lead to a non-invasive way to diagnose endometriosis and guide treatment.
