New scan aims to see stroke risk before it strikes
NCT ID NCT05838547
Summary
This study aims to learn if a new type of PET-MR scan can better predict which patients with narrowed neck arteries are at highest risk for a future stroke or mini-stroke. Researchers will scan 80 adults who have this narrowing but no current symptoms. The goal is to see if the scan results correlate with who later has a stroke or needs surgery, potentially improving future risk assessment.
