New scan could personalize treatment for Tough-to-Treat abdominal cancers
NCT ID NCT06144853
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of scan (FDG-PET/CT) could be useful for patients with advanced abdominal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen. Researchers wanted to see if these scans could help select the right patients for a targeted chemotherapy treatment (PIPAC) and then monitor how well the treatment was working. The goal was to find a better, non-invasive way to track the disease compared to repeated biopsies.
