New program aims to save veteran lives after hospital discharge

Summary
This study is testing a new, personalized safety plan for veterans at high risk of suicide after being discharged from a psychiatric hospital. The program includes a single session to create a plan, followed by brief coaching calls for three months. Researchers will compare this personalized plan to the standard safety plan to see if it better reduces suicidal thoughts and helps veterans cope.
